THE PERSON BEHIND THE WORK

Jennifer Galliott

Multidisciplinary artist and founder

Jennifer’s official biography connects pottery, textiles and work by hand with the studio she established in Woody Point.

The story & the craft.

Jennifer Galliott is a multidisciplinary artist working with pottery and textiles. Her account of the studio begins with returning to Woody Point and adapting her grandfather’s fishing shed. The place now brings her making practice together with a seasonal café, craft shop and small events.

For the work itself, start with the official ceramic listings. The Wild Rhododendron Large Mug is described as wheel-thrown with Jennifer’s own illustration; that specific listing is sold out. The Sculpin Sculpture is a separate handcrafted decorative object with a colour selector. A sculpture and a drinking vessel call for different questions about use, dimensions and care.

A studio visit takes a little planning. The official site describes a summer-to-mid-autumn season, with directions into Woody Point and community parking farther along the road. Confirm the actual opening and event details before travelling. The site currently says commissions are closed, so the inquiry form is useful for a shop or visit question rather than a promise of custom work.

Before you buy or go.

Check the exact item’s availability, dimensions, care and delivery terms. Many mug listings are sold out. Confirm seasonal opening before travelling; commissions are currently closed. The studio’s general custom-order invitation does not override that notice.

The Canadian connection.

The artist’s own biography and official studio address establish a Woody Point, Newfoundland and Labrador connection. This feature does not assign Canadian manufacture to every item carried in the shop.
