The Excursion Packable Picnic Blanket is a 145-by-200-centimetre recycled-polypropylene piece with carrying handles, straps and a small zipper pocket. The maker describes it as water resistant, which should not be expanded into waterproof. The Arnell throw is a different indoor-oriented fabric: Turkish cotton, fringed edges and a 130-by-170-centimetre format.
Care affects the choice. Both selected pages direct a cold hand wash and flat or hanging drying rather than a routine hot machine cycle.
